Coin-World Scam Crypto Mining Platform: Fake Investment To Avoid

Coin-World is a scam Ethereum mining platform which purports to offer pooled mining services but is actually used for fraudulent activity.

Many of the victims of the Coin-World scam have been contacted at random through social media – commonly WhatsApp – with an innocuous message.

Their new ‘friend’ will strike up a conversation and eventually start talking about investing, specifically in cryptocurrency, claiming they know of a scheme that offers quick returns.

However, if the victim parts with their money they’ll eventually find their account blocked, usually after initially seeing gains.

The scammers will then demand a fee of some description, such as a commission or tax, to release the victim’s money, but this too will be stolen.

If the victim pays, further demands will follow until the victim either runs out of money or the scammers disappear.

How to spot the Coin-World scam

The Coin-World scam website is a carbon copy of many other fraudulent websites online at present.

Here are some of the things that give it away:

• Immediately prompting you to connect a crypto wallet as soon as you land on the platform. No legitimate site does this.
• A very rudimentary website design full of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
• Mismatched site identity – the URL reads Coin-World yet the site title (and tab) read ‘Hilltop’.
• A Domain Authority (DA) score of just 1 – the lowest possible. This means the platform doesn’t have any significant inbound links.
• No presence on social media or any official app store apps.
• A domain name that was only registered a few months ago.
• No company information or verifiable address or contact details.
• The person who contacted The Crypto Adviser about this platform said they were ‘guaranteed’ huge returns by their new WhatsApp friend, a sure sign it’s a scam investment.
