Introduction to Cryptocurrency – Course Summary
Cost:
£175 (duration: approximately 1hr 30mins split over two 45 minutes sessions)
The price includes a booklet with in-depth course notes to refer back to sent after the lesson
Introduction:
Firstly, we’ll ask a few questions about you so we can understand how much you know about cryptocurrency and what your investing experience is.
We’ll then talk through some basic investing principles – including the risks – that you should follow as you continue your journey.
Main lesson:
During the main part of the session we’ll give you a step-by-step tutorial on setting up a crypto exchange account, funding it and buying your first coins.
This will include:
- Choosing a crypto exchange, ie Coinbase, Kraken etc
- The KYC and AML requirements that exchanges require
- Funding your account and buying the crypto of your choice
Next, we’ll talk through the options available when it comes to securing your coins.
We’ll discuss:
- The different kinds of wallets (hot and cold)
- The importance of looking after your mnemonic seed phrase
- Succession planning – ensuring your coins can be passed on to your loved ones
During the final part of the lesson we’ll talk about some of the common crypto scams that catch people out and how to avoid them.
We’ll also give you a brief overview of the tax that may be applicable to you if and when you cash in your investments.
We can then discuss any other topics you wish to cover – it’s entirely up to you!
