Trip-UK (TripAdvisor RP) Crypto Scam: Don’t Send Money To This Fake Site
The Trip-UK or TripAdvisorRP crypto scam uses Telegram to contact people at random and present a so-called get-rich-quick crypto investment to them.
Once people agree to participate, they are asked to set up a Binance account and use it to send money to the scammers. The fraudsters also claim this is where profits will be sent to.
The person who spoke to me was then assigned an ‘advisor’ who guided them through the process of depositing money on the scam platform and earning through automated crypto investing and also set ‘tasks’.
As is typical with scams of this kind, the profits aren’t real, and the problems start when victims try to withdraw their money.
The victim said his account was frozen after he’d deposited more than $3,000, and the scammers demanded he pay a ‘commission’ to release the funds.
This is the typical method the scammers use to extract more money out of their victims before disappearing.
Fortunately, he didn’t send any more money so he was able to limit his losses.
How to tell Trip UK / TripAdvisorRP is a fake crypto platform
There are numerous ways of telling this is a scam.
They include:
- The domain name is less than a month old.
- The site is poorly designed and is barely coherent.
- The content that does exist has been scraped from other sites.
- The returns promised by the representative on Telegram are completely unrealistic.
- No legitimate crypto site would transact in the way Trip-UK does.
- There are no social media channels associated with the site.
- The site bears a striking resemblance to other similar crypto scams operating right now.
- The only mention of the platform online are scam reports.
- No legitimate site would demand commissions for the return of a client’s funds.
