Hopooa – or Hope – is a scam crypto trading platform which claims to offer a variety of instruments to profit from digital assets but is in fact fake.

Having a domain name that doesn’t match the name on the site is a huge red flag from the very start, and things only go downhill from here.

There is nothing about this site that is legitimate, and The Crypto Adviser has already been contacted by a victim who has lost money on this platform.

They’ve lost a significant amount of money after being encouraged to invest in the platform through someone who approached them via social media – a class tactic of scammers involved in pig-butchering scams.

How can you tell Hopooa is a scam?

Here are some of the things that give this platform away:

  • Mismatched names, as already mentioned.
  • Claims of being the ‘Most Trusted Cryptocurrency Trading Platform’ – these exact words are used time and time again on scam websites.
  • Poor use of English and grammatically incorrect text throughout.
  • A domain name that was registered very recently, despite the site claiming it’s been running since 2019.
  • Links that don’t lead anywhere, or land on pages of unrelated text scraped from other sites.
  • A Domain Authority (DA) score of 1 meaning the site is very new and doesn’t get much traffic.
  • Hardly any reviews or mentions online.
  • No official apps or profiles on any social media platforms.
  • Claims to offer USDT (Tether) mining, which is impossible.
  • A list of big-name partners which is clearly fake and not linked to anyone.
  • The only contact details are a single email address, with no information about the company, the team or where it’s located.

Steer clear of the Hopooa/Hope platform and avoid anyone who tries to get you to invest here.

I’ve been scammed by Hopooa – help!

If you’ve lost money to this scam, you should report it to the police in the first instance, even though it’s very difficult to reclaim stolen crypto.

However, there are private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.

If you suspect a site is fake, get in touch.
