Eth846 is a scam crypto mining pool which lures victims in with the promise of bonuses and high returns.

But the mining element of the website is actually non-functional – it simply runs a script which claims to show real-time mining returns.

However, this is fake and no-one who invests in Eth846 sees any of the money again, apart from small withdrawals at the start, a trick used by scammers to build confidence.

The first sign that this site is a scam is when you visit the website, and a pop-up appears which prompts you to connect your crypto wallet straight away.

No legitimate trading platforms would do this, and it’s an immediate red flag.

There are many other issues with this platform as well, including:

  • A new domain name despite claims of 4 years of trading.
  • Poor grammar and wording across the platform.
  • No social media profiles or app store apps.
  • No information about the company or team.
  • There are no reviews about the platform online, apart from one mention if it being a scam.
  • A Domain Authority (DA) of 1 meaning no external links and very little traffic.
  • Most of the links on the website don’t lead anywhere.
  • The platform name and the name in the tab don’t match.
  • Promises of unrealistically high returns which are not achievable.

I’ve been scammed by eth846.io – what should I do?

You should make a careful note of all the transactions associated with the scam, together with WhatsApp groups, phone numbers and emails then report it to the police.

It’s unlikely that you’ll get your money back, but the more people that report scams the more likely it is that something will be done about them.

However, there are private companies that might be able to help which I’ve written about here.

If you suspect a site is fake, get in touch.
